Essential oils experience

We will depart from one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, San Donato in Poggio, to appreciate a sun-kissed Chianti valley , Val di Pesa, rich in vineyards, olive trees, cypresses and aromatic plants. The loop route will take us along the river of the same name, the Pesa, to discover the Water Walks, and we will savor the beauty, nature and history of the Tuscan territory in its most authentic and least anthropized part. It is precisely water, a resource that is becoming increasingly precious to the point of being called “blue gold,” that will be the main protagonist of our itinerary: the pure and free water that flows through the valley and the water that becomes a pivotal element in the distillation process of essences. To get to the heart of our experience, we will walk along cultivated fields of medicinal and aromatic plants, with an olfactory trail that will help us recognize the different scents. We will then visit the distillation workshop in the farm’s barn-strictly organic-where custom-made machinery transforms plants and herbs into unique handcrafted products: essential oils, hydrolates, blends, roll ons, infusions and more. Finally, we will complete the sensory experience by savoring the “Treasure of Chianti,” a special tea made from the leaves of Chianti olive trees.
