The village of Greve in Chianti, located in the heart of Chianti Classico, currently constitutes the largest center in the Chianti area. Its historical importance is highlighted by its strategic location along three important pilgrimage routes: the Via Chiantigiana, the route to Valdarno and the route to Val di Pesa, which have made it a crucial meeting point since ancient times.
The hike will start from the charming Piazza Matteotti, which is the centerpiece of the village of Greve in Chianti. From this square, the trail will lead us along a path that winds through the rolling Chianti hills, giving us a magnificent view of the Borgo di Montefioralle.
