Terms and conditions of service

  1. Method of reservation, deposit payment and related communications.

1.1) To book WeHike experiences, it is necessary to send a written request via email to info@we-hike.it or via WhatsApp at +39.339.8636.036 indicating your data: first name, last name, email, phone contact, tax code and/or VAT number, type of experience being booked.

1.2) From the date of booking the event, up to ninety days before the scheduled event, no sum is required to be paid. As of the ninetieth day before the scheduled event, the customer must arrange for the payment of a sum equal to 30% of the total amount to be paid, as a security deposit. Said amount, once paid, shall not be subject to refund by WeHike, except as provided in Article 3.1 below.

1.3) The balance of the reservation must be paid thirty days before the scheduled date of the booked event.

1.4) For any reservations made, cancellations or other communications pertaining to dealings with WeHike, only the contact information given at the time of the reservation will be used.

  1. Methods of Payment

Payment can be made by bank transfer or via PayPal.

  1. Cancellations, ways to cancel, program changes

3.1) WeHike reserves the right to cancel the scheduled event until 3:00 p.m. on the day prior to the scheduled date for valid reasons (including, but not limited to: adverse weather conditions, difficulties that may affect the maintenance of participants’ safety conditions etc.) or in the event that the minimum number of booked participants is not reached. In the event that WeHike deems that there are no weather conditions to be able to hold the event, a voucher will be issued for participation in a new event with a value equal to 100% of the amount paid, which will be valid for twelve months.

3.2) Cancellation to the event by an individual participant should be communicated only to the following email address info@we-hike.it.

– In case of cancellation sent no earlier than ninety days before the scheduled date of the event, the security deposit paid will not be refunded by WeHike.

– If, on the other hand, the cancellation is sent more than thirty days after the scheduled date of the event of the event, WeHike will retain the full price paid for the event booking.

3.3) In the event that participation in the event is subject to cancellation by the Client, Agency or Tour Operator, the following is specified.

  • In case the cancellation is sent by email more than ninety days, up to thirty days before the scheduled date of the event, the amount paid as deposit shall be retained by WeHike.
  • In case the cancellation is sent by email more than thirty days before the scheduled date of the event, WeHike will retain the full price paid for the event booking.

3.4) WeHike reserves the right not to accept into the group of event participants people who have not made reservations and those who do not have adequate equipment than that expressly requested.

3.5) WeHike reserves the right to change the route or program of a hike based on weather conditions, terrain conditions, and/or the abilities of the participant group; this is to ensure the safety of each participant and the success of the event.

3.6) WeHike reserves the right to calibrate the pace of the excursion depending on the type of composition of the group of participants.

  1. The Guide

The Guide (Environmental Guide) is a figure certified by the Region of Tuscany and qualified in accordance with Regional Law 42 of 23/03/2000 and subsequent amendments.

The guide performs the functions of excursion organiser and group leader during an excursion.

In his role as organiser, he draws up a programme of excursions and experiences that he submits to the public via the website.

The Guide has R.C.T. insurance; this insurance does not, however, cover the accident risks of those taking part in the event.

  1. The Participant (nature, obligations and powers)

5.1) All individuals over 18 years of age and minors only if accompanied are eligible for WeHike experiences.

5.2) Each participant must carry his or her own valid ID.

5.3) The Participant is obliged, before booking the event, to carefully read the technical information of the excursion and the necessary requirements for participation (available on the website in the specific event purchased) and, by making the booking, declares that he/she fully accepts its contents.

5.4) At the time of booking, the Participant is required to disclose his or her current and/or past medical condition that may affect his or her safety and that of the other participants, as well as being required to specify any food intolerances or allergies or any other medical condition that may affect him or her in relation to the event for which he or she has booked.

5.5) After receiving confirmation of participation from WeHike, the Participant agrees to keep informed about the excursion and carefully read all detailed information received via e-mail.

5.6) In the case where the reservation was made by an Agency, Tour Operator, or in the case of a group reservation, the person who made the reservation is obliged to inform all members of the group about the program, logistics, and required clothing, as well as to disclose any information received by WeHike up to the day of the excursion.

5.7) The Participant is required to strictly follow any directions from WeHike regarding routes, prohibitions, etc.

5.8) The Participant is required to follow the pace set by WeHike, not to stray from the group and the established path.

5.9) The Participant is expected to behave respectfully towards the event organizers, the natural environment and other participants.

5.10) The Participant may bring his or her own dog with them-except in protected wilderness areas where there is an explicit prohibition in this regard-he or she must keep the dog on a leash and ensure that his or her dog is accustomed to being with other people and other dogs without causing a disturbance to other hikers.

5.11) The Participant declares that he/she is physically fit and in good health and is aware of any allergic reactions of his/her body to insects/pollen etc.

5.12) The Participant is aware that the participation fee includes the organization and accompaniment with GAE Guide (Environmental Hiking Guide licensed to the profession per L.R. 86/2016). Excluded from what has already been paid are costs not expressly indicated on the website and/or via email at the time of booking.

5.13) The Participant understands that during the day, photographs and/or video footage may be taken that may be used for promotional purposes by WeHike to promote its business activities; consent or dissent will be requested on the day of the excursion.

5.14) The Participant releases the Guide from any liability arising from behavior that does not comply with these general conditions.

5.15) The Participant declares that he/she has read the Discipline on Prevention and Containment Measures from CoVid-19 and agrees to complete and sign appropriate form required by the Health Authority.

5.16) The Participant concurrently with the booking to a WeHike event fully and automatically accepts these general conditions acknowledging their full effectiveness.

5.17) WeHike is solely responsible for the leadership and safety of the individuals participating in the event. Each member of the group during hikes/events must remain behind the Guide at all times. Those who leave the group, even with the Guide’s consent, will do so at their own risk and responsibility.

  1. Appointment time and place for beginning of experience

WeHike will confirm to the client and/or group, via email or WhatsApp, the exact time and meeting point.
